Clash: Do you believe in life forms in the universe outside of the Earth, and, if there is such, has it visited our planet?

Schweickart: Yes, of course, I believe in the first part of your question. As to whether it has visited us, I have no idea. If you think logically through that process, though, what you realize is we will be, in the end, and they will have, in advance, focused on representatives using artificial intelligence (AI), etc. Our machines can reproduce much more rapidly than we can. We already explore that way. That’s what may have visited us at some point. Who knows in what form? Are they obelisks [laughs]?
